Pneumonia vaccination
There are two variants of pneumonia vaccination - Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV or PPSV) and Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV). There are some key differences between them in terms of effectiveness, number of strains vaccinated against, apart from cost which I summarise below.
