Superb Moon
All of us heard about the recent super moon phenomenon that took place on March 19 2011. Yes, I too witnessed the event late in the might and here is one of my pic.
Interestingly, the etmology of the word 'lunatic' has got something to do with moon. If we try to explore we see that Humans (and primates for that matter) are not nocturnal by nature. This innate trait instils a fear of dark which is explicable. So nights are spent in safety. But during the full moon nights, they get active at night as well. This is taken to advantage by non-nocturnal animals which is unusual for their behaviour. This is the reason for associating unexplained / unusual beahaviour with moon.
Even the 'super moon' phenomenon has got its share of ill omens like earthquakes, tsunamis etc. As far as the scientific evidence goes, it does not support any of these accusations!

Here I share another super-moon picture that I took.

Well this is the closest moon has got to earth since 18 years. Personally, I prefer the moon sighting during Buddha poornima (sometimes holi as well). What about you?
